Corona Virus Update:
April 17th, 2020

Dear EUFC Members,
In accordance with the State of California and the Governor’s Stay-At-Home-Order as well as guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health, the suspension of EUFC programs and competition activities continues until further notice. The EUFC Board of Directors has agreed to extend the current suspension beyond April 17th, 2020 in compliance with the Stay-At-Home Order signed by the Governor on March 19. The suspension, in place since March 13, came as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it will not be lifted until State authorities have lifted or made any changes to their Stay-At-Home Order.

The suspension covers all Cal South events and sanctioned activities including, but not limited to, State Cup, National Cup, California Regional League, Pacific Conference, Adult State Cup, Golden Valley Soccer League play, as well as any ODP Programming, Coaching Education Courses, and Referee Courses. Other activities sanctioned by Cal South such as practices, tournaments, camps, etc., are also suspended in accordance with the guidelines for social distancing as established by local, state and national agencies and health organizations.

EUFC is actively monitoring national and state organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association and we will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels and via email. Dear Escondido United Staff and Members,
Escondido United hereby suspends all program and competition activities effective immediately through April 17, 2020. This suspension comes as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it is taken with extreme concern and interest in the health and safety of our entire community. The suspension covers all Cal South and Club events including, but not limited to, local league play, tournaments, tryouts, practices, meetings, State Cup, National Cup, Coaching Education Courses, and Referee Courses.
Escondido United is closely monitoring national and state organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association. Thus, Escondido United may extend this suspension, depending on the facts and recommendations not available at this time.
We will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels and via email. The safety of our community is our main priority and we believe that suspending all activity through April 17th, 2020 gives us adequate time to examine all the recommendations and advisories before making further decisions.
Best Practices / Guidelines
To reinforce health safety and best practices for illness prevention, please read the list below:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
• Follow the CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
• The CDC recommends that ONLY people who are ill wear a face mask, as it can be an effective tool to help prevent the transmission of respiratory illnesses including Coronavirus.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
